December started with a series of celebrations for us as ConnectFor completed 5 years in the social space as an aggregator matching over 26,000 volunteers with over 500 NGOs across India! To express our gratitude to our pool of stakeholders, we organized the VolunCheer — a LIVE entertainment event to celebrate the spirit of volunteerism.
We take great pride in sharing with you that we have been able to identify gaps and challenges affecting the nonprofits today. Earlier in the year, to offset inaccessibility of education for millions of children in India, we started an initiative on Phone Schooling — Connecting the Disconnected where we equipped 600+ children and teachers with phones and tablets with internet connectivity for virtual education. The pandemic alone engaged over 300+ corporate employee volunteers that rendered 600+ volunteering hours helping our NGOs save over INR 1,50,000 through Virtual Volunteering! …
